Odin's horn

The Triple Horn of Odin is a stylized emblem of the Norse God Odin. This symbol consists of three interlocked drinking horns, and is commonly worn or displayed as a sign of commitment to the Asatru faith.
The horns figure in the mythological stories of Odin and are recalled in traditional Norse toasting rituals. Most satories involve the God's quest for the Odhroerir, a magical mead brewed from the blood of the wise god Kvasir. The tales vary, but typically, Odin uses his wits and magic to procure the the brew over three days; the three horns reflect the three draughts of the magical mead.

Caduceus

The caduceus is the legendary herald's wand of the Greek God Hermes (Roman, Mercury). This symbol, a winged staff entwined by twin serpents, is nearly universal, found in Egypt, Mesopotamia, and India, where it is always a symbol of harmony and balance. The symbol may have originally been a symbol of the sovereignity of the Goddess Tanit.
It has been mistakenly utilized as a symbol of the medical industry in the place of the wand of Asclepius (Asculapius).
In the Hermetic Tradition, the cadeceus is a symbol of spiritual awakening, and has been likened to the Kundalini serpents of Hindu mysticism.

Cagliostro's

Known as the Seal of Cagliostro, this unusual symbol depicts a serpent, an apple in its mouth, impaled with an arrow. This was found amongst the personal effects of Count Cagliostro upon his death in 195. While the symbol has obvious alchemical elements, its precise meaning is unknown. The well known nineteenth century occult writer Eliphas Levi has this to say regarding this emblem:
As explained by the cabalistic letters of the names Acharat and Althotas, it expresses the chief characteristics of the Great Arcanum and the Great Work. It is a serpent pierced by an arrow, thus representing the letter Aleph, an image of the union between active and passive, spirit and life, will and light. The arrow is that of the antique Apollo, while the serpent is the python of fable, the green dragon of Hermetic philosophy. The letter Aleph represents equilibrated unity. This pantacle is reproduced under various forms in the talismans of old magic. . . . The arrow signifies the active principle, will, magical action, the coagulation of the dissolvent, the fixation of the volatile by projection and the penetration of earth by fire. The union of the two is the universal balance, the Great Arcanum, the Great Work, the equilibrium of Jachin and Boaz. The initials L.P.D., which accompany this figure, signify Liberty, Power, Duty, and also Light, Proportion, Density; Law, Principle and Right. The Freemasons have changed the order of these initials, and in the form of L.'.D.'.P.: . they render them as Liberte de Penser, Liberty of Thought, inscribing these on a symbolical bridge, but for those who are not initiated they substitute Liberte de Passer, Liberty of Passage. In the records of the prosecution of Cagliostro it is said that his examination elicited another meaning as follows: Lilia destrue pedibus: Trample the lilies under foot; and in support of this version may be cited a Masonic medal of the sixteenth or seventeenth century, depicting a branch of lilies severed by sword, having these words on the exergue: Talem dabit ultio messem - Revenge shall give this harvest.
The image was later incorporated into the emblem of the Hermetic Brotherhod of Luxor, an early occult fraternity.

Valknut

This symbol found on old Norse stonecarvings is called "Hrungnir's heart," after the legendary giant of the Eddas. It is best known as the Valknut, or "knot of the slain," and it has been found on stone carvings with funerary motifs, where it signified the afterlife.
The valknut can be drawn unicursally (in one stroke), making it a popular talisman of protection against spirits.
The Valknut's three interlocking shapes and nine points suggest rebirth, pregnancy, and cycles of reincarnation. The nine points are also suggestive of the Nine Worlds (and the nine fates) of Norse mythology. Their interwoven shape suggests the belief of the interelatedness of the three realms of earth, hel, and the heavens, and the nine domains they encompass.
The Valknut is also an important symbol to many follwers of the Asatru faith, who often wear it as a symbol of the faith.

The triceps was used into the middle ages as a magical sign of protection.

PenTagRaM

The pentagram is a five pointed star commonly associated with Wicca, Ritual magick, Satanism, and Masonry. The Pentagram has a long and complex history as a religious symbol. Found scrawled in caves of ancient Babylonia, the five pointed star was copied from the star shaped pattern formed by the travels of the planet Venus in the sky. The emblem remained popular through many cultures and time periods- it was called the pentalpha by the Greeks, who believed it had magical properties. For a time, it was the official seal of the city of Jerusalem

In later times, it was used by medieval Christians to symbolize the five wounds of Christ, and figured in the heavily symbolic Arthurian romances. It also represents the proportions of the human body. The pentagram was commonly used (ironically) against witches and demons. (like other protective knots, it was considered effective only if drawn perfectly)
It was not until the twentieth century that the pentagram became associated with Satanism, probably due to misinterpretation of symbols used by ceremonial magicians.
In alchemical texts, the four elements (in Latin)- flatus, ignus, aqua, terra, superseded by light, or divine energy- illustrated the process of creation- Fiat Lux, or, "let there be light."
In Wiccan/Pagan lore, the pentagram symbolizes the five elements- earth, air, water, fire, and spirit. The Wiccan emblematic pentagram faces point upward to symbolize the triumph of spirit over matter; the Satanic pentagram is transposed, point downwards, to symbolize earthly gratification, or the triumph of the individual over dissolution. Some Wiccan grades also utilize a reversed pentacle, although for different purposes.

Medieval and Renaissance art made use of a number of emblems to symbolize death and mortality. Although a central theme of Christianity for hundreds of years the was triumph over death, the onset of the black plague altered public perception, and the emphasis was placed on the triumph of death over life and the necessity of repentance. Symbols of resurrection common in Christian art became less popular as reminders of the impermanence of life and the punishments of hell became ubiquitous.

The most common symbols of mortality were the grim reaper and his scythe, the death's head, and the hourglass, all appropriated from icons of Greek and Roman Paganism. Slogans such as "remember death" and "all is vanity" were omnipresent- death was around the corner, and one had better repent if one was to avoid an eternity of damnation. The source of these macabre symbols was, ironically, the paganism that Christianity had supposedly replaced.*
In ancient times, the emblem of the God Saturn (Chronos to the Greeks) was the scythe, which represented the nature of the cycles of time. The scythe symbolized not only impermanence (all things living will be cut down), but the nature of the life cycle- plants must die to feed animals, and the tool of the harvest is depicts the necessity of death for the renewal of life. Thus, death was depicted as a natural part of the passage of time.

The hourglass is another emblem of time, although hidden within is the promise of life- because the hourglass is reversible, it held within a promise of resurrection, a symbolism not lost on everyone- all of these emblems later became symbols of resurrection to Freemasons and Rosicrucians who grasped their true ancient meanings.

The skull was a also frequent companion to ascetic desert saints in numerous paintings, and was often paired with the book, a symbol of studiousness. IUn this manifestation, the death's head was less ominous, and symbolized the rejection of the impermanent material world for the life of the spirit.
*Some scholars theorize that the appropriation of ancient symbolism was a subconcious (or even deliberate) attempt to appease the old gods. In later times, death was depicted as a process of the alchemical arts. Common alchemical emblems included the crow, the skull, and the tomb as symbols of the necessary death of the ego/personality.

Bala Allah - Antara persoalan dan punca berlaku Ustaz Oleh Zainudin Hashim

Kenapa Allah SWT menurunkan bala ke atas hamba-Nya? Mengapa ia tidak ditimpakan ke atas generasi akan datang? Adakah bala yang ditimpakan itu membuktikan kemarahan Allah ke atas diri kita yang terpaksa menanggung risiko akibat perbuatan orang lain?
--> Apabila dilihat telatah, gelagat dan perwatakan umat Islam hari ini memperlihatkan benar-benar mereka mengundang bala daripada Allah SWT. Kita amat berharap agar cukuplah bala yang ditimpakan sejak peristiwa tsunami agar ia tidak berulang dengan yang lebih besar daripada itu. Bermacam-macam persoalan timbul mengenai bala yang merisaukan banyak pihak. Tapi apakah sebenarnya bala itu? Bala yang diambil daripada perkataan Arab iaitu 'bala' bermakna hukuman daripada Allah akibat salah laku manusia kerana mengingkari sepenuhnya atau sebahagian daripada perintah Allah SWT. Bala ini pernah terjadi di zaman para Anbiya' sebelum Nabi Muhammad s.a.w., seperti yang diceritakan oleh Allah dalam al-Quran menerusi ayat 133 surah al-'Araf~ yang bermaksud: Telah Kami kirimkan ke atas mereka (umat Nabi Musa) ribut taufan, belalang, kutu, katak dan darah, sebagai tanda yang cukup jelas keingkaran mereka terhadap ajaran Nabi Ibrahim, mereka menyombong
diri dan sesungguhnya mereka adalah golongan penjenayah (yang melakukan kerosakan di muka bumi). Begitu juga Allah menceritakan mengenai kaum Nabi Lut yang melakukan perbuatan terkutuk yang disifatkan oleh Nabi Lut sendiri sebagai perbuatan yang tidak pernah berlaku di dunia sebelum itu, maka Allah musnahkan mereka tanpa memberi peluang untuk mereka bertaubat ke jalan kebenaran, sila rujuk ayat 81 surah al-'Araf~. Kesalahan yang patut terima hukuman

Sesungguhnya bala tidak akan diturunkan oleh Allah ke atas manusia, melainkan kerana didahului dengan kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh mereka. Bezanya umat nabi-nabi terdahulu dikirimkan bala tanpa memberitahu isyarat kehadirannya, namun bagi umat Nabi Muhammad s.a.w., isyarat atau tanda-tanda kehadiran bala itu dapat dikesan oleh mereka yang kuat berpegang kepada agama dengan pelbagai kaedah, pendekatan dan bentuk tertentu. Ini menandakan bahawa Allah SWT amat sayang kepada kita hingga menzahirkan isyarat atau tanda agar kita segera mengingati-Nya, boleh juga disifatkan diri kita sebagai hamba emas yang amat disayangi di sisi Allah, cuma umat ini sahaja yang tidak mengenal erti kasih sayang Allah. Jelas di sini bahawa kesalahan umat terdahulu hingga ditimpakan pelbagai bentuk bala daripada Allah, kerana melakukan perkara-perkara yang becanggah dengan ajaran nabi-nabi mereka, tetapi kita perlu ingat, bahawa Allah Yang Maha Berkuasa boleh mengirim bala kepada
kita serupa dengan apa yang pernah berlaku pada zaman lampau dan juga mampu mengirim bala yang tidak pernah ketika itu. Ini dapat kita lihat pada hari ini seperti penyakit HIV, selesema burung yang menggerunkan banyak pihak, penyakit kaki, tangan dan mulut dan macam-macam lagi, ia dikirimkan agar manusia kembali ke pangkal jalan. Sepatutnya sebagai umat Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. kita berjaya meloloskan diri daripada bala-bala yang disebutkan di atas, tetapi kenapa berlaku juga? Ia merupakan satu persoalan yang patut segera mencari jawapannya. Ini tidak lain kalau tidak kita melakukan perkara yang menyanggah tuntutan agama, terdapat selain kita yang sanggup menggadai maruah agama. Mari kita selidik secara halus tindakan manusia hari ini yang mengundang bala daripada Allah, program hiburan keterlaluan walaupun telah disanggah dan diingatkan oleh golongan ulama khususnya para mufti seperti JomHeboh, Mentor musim kedua, Akademi Fantasia musim keempat, kelima dan
banyak lagi. Cuba kita perhatikan reaksi manusia selepas tamat program-program seumpama itu, laporan akhbar arus perdana menyebut, 70 pasangan Melayu daripada peringkat usia 15-40 tahun disaman atas pelbagai kesalahan hingga ibu bapa mereka turut dipanggil ke pejabat agama. Kesalahan mereka yang dikenal pasti kerana meminum arak, berkhalwat dan bermacam-macam jenis maksiat yang canggih-canggih, ini tidak termasuk laporan yang menyebut 21 kes anak luar nikah berlaku dalam tempoh sebulan baru-baru ini. Kita dikejutkan dengan berita seorang ibu muda yang sanggup menjerut leher kedua anak lelakinya dengan wayar seterika hingga membawa kepada kematian. Laporan akhbar arus perdana juga ada menyebut menyebut mengenai gejala samseng pelajar-pelajar perempuan yang memukul, menerajang rakan mereka di alat sulitnya hingga menyukarkannya untuk menduduki peperiksaan SPM, terdapat juga gejala samseng ini menular di sekolah-sekolah menengah hingga ada pelajar
perempuan yang mengugut rakan mereka untuk menyebarkan gambar bogelnya setelah dia dipaksa berbuat demikian atas kesalahan yang kecil dan bermacam-macam lagi. Terbaru seperti yang dilaporkan muka surat depan akhbar Berita Harian bertarikh 21 November 2007 (Rabu) yang memaparkan gambar-gambar model yang kononnya mempamerkan aksesori barangan kemas pada majlis pelancaran Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian 2007. Persoalannya adakah pihak editorial BH tidak ada sensitiviti mengenai penampilan para gadis yang mendedahkan aurat apatah lagi pada majlis hiburan yang mengundang bala daripada Allah SWT. Begitu juga dengan kerajaan Malaysia yang mengundang pemain tenis nombor dua dan lapan dunia, Rafeal Nadal dari Sepanyol dan Richard Gasquet dari Perancis, masalahnya dari paparan iklan terdapat penaja arak Heineken di gelanggang permainan tersebut, apatah lagi perlawanan itu disaksikan Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Dato’ Seri Najib Razak dan isteri, Menteri Belia
dan Sukan serta orang-orang kenamaan. Apa untungnya perlawanan itu diadakan di Malaysia, arak menjadi antara penaja, isteri TPM juga sibuk hendak bersalam dengan pemain-pemain tersebut dengan penampilan yang tidak selari dengan ajaran Islam Hadhari, para penonton juga tidak kurang yang berpakaian tidak senonoh dengan memakai pengikat kepala tertulis Nadal. Tidakkah orang-orang besar negara seperti TPM rasa bahawa dia akan dipersoalkan di hadapan Allah SWT pada hari Kiamat dengan membiarkan banyak perkara yang menyinggung kesucian islan berlaku di hadapan mata? Sama-samalah kita fikirkan sebelum terlambat, tidakkah kita perasan mengapa Allah sudah mula menurunkan banjir kilat dan hujan lebat di negeri Johor, sama-samlah kita renung dan muhasabah diri akan kesalahan yang telah kita buat. Faktor atau punca berlaku bala
Dalam kesempatan ini, forum agama cuba menyelongkar pendekatan daripada hadis-hadis sohih Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. sejak 14 abad yang lalu yang menyebut secara jelas faktor, sebab atau punca berlaku bala yang dikirim oleh Allah SWT ke atas umat baginda: 1- Ilmu Islam akan beransur hilang sedikit demi sedikit. 2- Umat Islam sanggup mengikuti jejak langkah Yahudi dan Nasrani dalam tindakan, teladan, pertuturan dan cara hidup mereka. 3- Muncul golong anti hadis (yang tidak dibendung). 4- Umat Islam yang terlalu banyak bergelumang dalam keseronokan. 5- Terlampau mewah. 6- Menghimpun harta sebanyak mungkin (hingga lupa untuk menggarap ilmu agama). 7- Tipu menipu dalam perkara dunia. 8- Saling bertengkar dalam urusan remeh-temeh (yang sepatutnya boleh dimaafkan). 9- Tersebar luas hasad dengki serta hasut menghasut di kalangan mereka. 10- Islam dianggap sebagai agama asing atau berdagang di negara umat Islam sendiri. 11- Berleluasa amalan rasuah dengan
pelbagai bentuk dan helah. 12- Orang yang baik terlalu sedikit, malah orang yang jahat semakin ramai. 13- Muncul orang yang tidak peduli sumber harta yang diperolehinya. 14- Riba wujud di mana-mana. 15- Ramai yang minum arak dan menamakannya sebagai bukan arak. 16- Golongan lelaki semakin sedikit dan golongan wanita semakin ramai. 17- Golongan lelaki yang menyerupai wanita dan sebaliknya. 18- Ibu melahirkan tuannya. 19- Bangunan pencakar langit. 20- Muncul ramai ahli ibadat tapi jahil dan ramai golongan ulama tapi fasiq. 21- Orang yang berpegang dengan Islam bagai menggenggam bara api. 22- Berlaku peperangan demi peperangan. 23- Masa akan menjadi singkat. 24- Muncul galian-galian bumi. 25- Ujian yang dahsyat terhadap iman. 26- Peperangan di kawasan sungai Furat kerana menyebut kekayaan. 27- Ketiadaan iman untuk bersolat jamaah. 28- Al-Quran akan hilang dan ilmu akan diangkat menghadap Allah. 29- Bermegah-megah dengah keindahan masjid dan
kosong dengan pengisian agama. 30- Menggadai agama kerana dunia. 31- Pelaksanaan haji dan umrah bukan kerana Allah. 32- Harta negara bertukar tangan di kalangan pemimpin. 33- Sesuatu amanah dianggap sebagai batu loncatan untuk mengaut keuntungan. 34- Bayaran zakat dianggap sebagai denda/saman. 35- Suami yang terlalu tunduk kepada isteri. 36- Anak-anak yang menderhaka terhadap ibu mereka. 37- Muncul ramai orang yang patuh dan setia yang tidak berbelah bagi kepada kawan dan rakan. 38- Golongan bapa yang hampa kerana disia-siakan oleh anak-anak mereka sendiri. 39- Berlaku pertengkaran dalam masjid. 40- Apabila orang yang rendah maruahnya dipilih menjadi ketua sesuatu kaum. 41- Apabila orang memuliakan orang lain kerana takutkan kejahatannya. 42- Apabila minuman keras tersebar luas. 43- Ramai golongan lelaki yang memakai sutera. 44- rtis-artis wanita diagung-agungkan. 45- Alat-alat muzik diguna-pakai (sebagai mata pencarian). 46- Kesilapan
manusia hari ini mengutuk generasi terdahulu. Apabila perkara yang disebutkan itu berlaku, maka kata Nabi, tunggulah ketika itu akan datang kepada manusia angin panas, ribut taufan, puting beliung dan bahaya-bahaya yang lain serta hingga berlaku penukaran corak dan rupa.

Allah ugama Islam itulah petunjuk yang benar". Dan demi sesungguhnya jika engkau menurut kehendak hawa nafsu mereka sesudah datangnya (wahyu
yg memberi)pengetahuan kepadamu (tentang kebenaran), maka tiadalah engkau akan peroleh dari Allah (sesuatupun) yang dapat mengawal dan memberi
pertolongan kepada mu.

Beliau juga menyebut hadith Rasulullah SAW yang berbunyi, lebih kurang :
UmatKu dilalaikan tanpa disedari seperti semut hitam diatas batu hitam
dimalam yang gelap. Siang ia Islam, malam ia kufur; dan siang ia kufur,
malam ia Islam. Yahudi & Nasarah yang tidak redha akan Islam kita akan
menggunakan apa saja cara untuk menyesatkan kita. Sekarang mereka
menggunakan cara yang begitu halus sampai kita sendiri tidak sedar yang kitatelah mengikuti mereka. Tengok saja disekeliling kita ...

INSTANT NOODLES
Dear instant noodle lovers,
Make sure you break for at least 3 days after one session of instant noodles before you eat your next packet! Please read the info shared to me by a doctor. My family stopped eating instant noodles more than 5 years ago after hearing about the wax coating the noodles - the wax is not just in the Styrofoam containers but it coats the noodles. This is why the instant noodles do not stick to each other when cooking.

If one were to examine the ordinary Chinese yellow noodles in the market, one will notice that, in their uncooked state the noodles are oily. This layer of oil prevents the noodles from sticking together.

Wanton noodles in their uncooked state have been dusted with flour to prevent them sticking together. When the hawker cooks the noodles, notice he cooks them in hot water and then rinses them in cold water before cooking them in hot water again. This process is repeated several times before the noodles are ready to be served. The cooking and rinsing process prevents noodles from sticking together.

The hawker then "lowers the noodles in oil and sauce to prevent the noodles from sticking if they are to be served dry. Cooking instructions for spaghetti require oil or butter to be added in the water when boiling the spaghetti to prevent the pasta from sticking together. Otherwise, one gets a big clump of spaghetti!

There was an SBC (now TCS) actor some years ago, who at a busy time of his career had no time to cook, resorted to eating instant noodles everyday. He got cancer later on. His doctor told him about the wax in instant noodles. The doctor told him that our body will need up to 2 days to clear the wax. There was also an SIA steward who after moving out from his mother's house into his own house, did not cook but ate instant noodles almost every meal. He had cancer, and has since died from it.

Nowadays the instant noodles are referred as " cancer noodles ".

SATAY LOVERS (BARBECUE)
If you all eat Satay, don't ever forget to eat the cucumber, because eating Satay together with carbon after barbequing can cause cancer.
But we have a cure for that... Cucumber should be eaten after we eat the Satay because Satay has carcinogen (a cancer causing element) but cucumber is anti-carcinogenic. So don't forget to eat the cucumber the next time you have Satay's.

If you pours Coke (yes, the soda) on a slab of pork, wait a little while, you will SEE WORMS crawl out of it. Although some of these infestations are harboured in other animals, modern veterinarians say that pigs are far MORE PREDISPOSED to these illnesses than other animals. Sausage contains bits of pigs' lungs, so those who EAT pork sausage tend to SUFFER MORE during EPIDEMICS of INFLUENZA. Pig meat contains EXCESSIVE quantities of HISTAMINE and IMIDAZOLE compounds, which can lead to ITCHING and INFLAMMATION; GROWTH HORMONE which PROMOTES INFLAMMATION and growth; sulphur containing mesenchymal mucus which leads to SWELLING and deposits of MUCUS in tendons and cartilage, resulting in ATHRITIS, RHEUMATISM, etc.
Sulphur helps cause FIRM human tendons and ligaments to be replaced by the pig's soft mesenchymal tissues, and degeneration of human cartilage.

Eating pork can also lead to GALLSTONES and OBESITY, probably due to its HIGH CHOLESTEROL and SATURATED FAT content. The pig is the MAIN CARRIER of the TAENIE SOLIUM WORM, which is found in its flesh. These tapeworms are found in human intestines with greater frequency in nations where pigs are eaten. This type of tapeworm can pass through the intestines and affect many other organs, and is incurable once it reaches beyond a certain stage. One in six people in the US and Canada has RICHINOSIS from eating trichina worms, which are found in pork.

Many people have NO SYMPTOMS to warm them of this, and when they do, they resemble symptoms of many other illnesses. These worms are NOT noticed during meat inspections.


SHAMPOO
Cancer-causing substance in shampoos. Go home and check your shampoo. Change before it's too late... Check the ingredients listed on your shampoo bottle, and see they have a substance by the name of Sodium Laureth Sulfate, or simply SLS. This substance is found in most shampoos; manufacturers use it because it produces a lot of foam and it is cheap. BUT the fact is, SLS is used to scrub garage floors, and it is very strong!!! It is also proven that it can cause cancer in the long run, and this is no joke. Shampoos that contains SLS: Vo5, Palmolive, Paul Mitchell, L'Oreal, the new Hemp Shampoo from Body Shop etc. contain this substance.

The first ingredient listed (which means it is the single most prevalent ingredient) in Clairol's Herbal Essences is Sodium Laureth Sulfate. Therefore, I called one company, and I told them their product contains a substance that will cause people to have cancer. They said, Yeah we knew about it but there is nothing we can do about it because we need that substance to produce foam. By the way Colgate toothpaste also contains the same substance to produce the "bubbles". They said they are going to send me some information.

Research has shown that in the 1980s, the chance of getting cancer is 1 out of 8000 and now, in the 1990s, the chances of getting cancer is 1 out of 3, which is very serious. Therefore, I hope that you will take this seriously and pass this on to all the people you know, and hopefully, we can stop "giving" ourselves cancer-causing agents.
